When you interview for a new job, how important is it to know that the business you are interviewing with has a CSR program that includes volunteering?

It would be very hard to make a decision based on the company's CSR programme as some company's CSR programmes sadly aren't worth paper there are written on and the only way to find out is once you are in!

I personally think it is very important. I believe that programs offered by different companies reflect somewhat what a company values.

A company offering a cross organization recreational sports program emphasizes to me a company who want to keep their employees fit, healthy, while also emphasizing team work.

So a company offering a CSR program that also includes volunteering opportunities shows to me that they want they want their employees to understand and practice ethical behavior and if they want their company to be made up of ethical people their company is trying to be ethical as well.

But, I agree with Ida. A lot of times it is hard to find out about a company's CSR program until you are already working there.
