CSR can also be understood as an approach that combines Human values and stakholders in a management processus in other to have successfull satisfactory for all, as the result of the activity (business). This suppose that,government,private sector and civil society have to work together,with a strong participation of each group,taking into account values that must be respected or protected during the business process and in the final result. This is a demonstrated way for each group to obtain satisfaction of related activity,and particularly for Corporate to add something more in their business( safety,loyalty perenisation, gain, etc.)

CSR is about good corporate behaviour from within the organization. Just like TQM it starts at the Board level. It is a way of life and not just another program to undertake because it is good for business. A business that could not survive without resorting to unethical or immoral practices even if it undertakes good community projects does not deserve to be in business. I would rather see a business not providing social outreach programs for as long as they make money honestly.

Most businesses because of maybe pressure from certain quarters are trying to safe face by making public gestures in the name of CSR. It would be interesting to see how these companies treat their employees. CSR should be a win win situation and it is more than just philantropic gestures.

Hello all, it's nice to meet somebody from Cameroon on the forum. i was beginning to think that we Cameroonians are not proactive. i'm happy to know that is not the case. I am from Cameroon and just ended the CSR course provided by WBI. It was quite enriching. I hope to gain more from this forum. Keep up the good work and i hope we can learn through each other's experiences and make our little corner of the world better

At LEAD, our business incubation and involvement in the local cashew value chain in Guinea-Bissau/Senegal allows us to influence small business owners on their crucial role in SR. A portion of the instruction process at every step reinforces that their workers, and the communities in which they do business are looking to them as leaders in education, health, and morality. We hold that true profitability is found concern for the well-being of our neighbor. The learn through our example, and others learn through theirs. We love this work and want to encourage all who care for helping develop businesses with heart.

In Kenya CSR Kenya is working with Center for Social responsibility and accountability and has launched a a focus group for Competitive and Responsible Kenya - a set of practical tools designed to help companies and their stakeholders address socio-economic and environmental challenges and integrate corporate social responsibility (CSR) into their business practice.
