The Initiative for Global Development (IGD), founded in Seattle in 2003, is a national alliance of business leaders that champions effective solutions to global poverty. The organization comprises a national network of more than 340 partners in 11 cities. Partners are regional and national opinion leaders, the majority of whom are current CEOs or senior executives of recognized corporations. Global poverty is at the root of many of the world’s greatest challenges and IGD believes that dramatically reducing it is one of the most effective steps we can take in creating a better and more secure future for us all. IGD works to promote poverty reduction by advocating for effective U.S. policies and advancing innovative private sector solutions that expand economic development in poor countries. IGD has recently launched a new program area to complement its advocacy efforts in reducing global poverty. Programs for Enterprise Growth (PEG) will catalyze private sector participation in the economic growth of poor countries. IGD has identified three areas in which it can help meet the growing demand for knowledge sharing and capacity building in order to unlock economic growth in the next emerging or "frontier" markets. These three elements of PEG will be rolled out sequentially:

Frontier 100
: Identifying leadership (Launched in late 2008) Identify the most promising business leaders in developing countries and create opportunities for these leaders and global CEOs to exchange knowledge, develop business and collaborate in global leadership

Excellence Platform
: Sharing best practices (Scheduled to launch in 2010) Showcase successful poverty-reducing approaches to investment in emerging markets and stimulate their adoption by producing highly applicable guides, tools and convenings for U.S. companies

IGD Developer
: Catalyzing investment (Scheduled to launch in 2010) Promote investment opportunities with strong potential to reduce poverty in developing countries that are not being pursued either because they are not visible to potential investors or the risks are viewed as too great We are looking for a leader to serve as vice president and oversee PEG formation and programming, focusing initially on Frontier 100. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of working in entrepreneurial environments and launching new initiatives; has an appreciation for business leadership and economic development in frontier markets; and has a track record of engaging senior leaders in business and the public sector.
