Charities, Social Enterprises, New and Emerging Organisations
About my work:
I have been working in the Voluntary Sector(Third Sector) for over 15 years now.
I have worked in London for over eight years as a Capacity Building Manager helping a range of charitable organisations and new social enterprises to set up, this involved mentoring them and providing them with training in order to sustain their organisations.
I have now moved to the West Country(Somerset) and work for a local Charity as a Human Rights Development Officer.
I am in the process of setting up a Social Enterprise with some old friends and Collegues offering advice, information and training for small, new and emerging organisations, dont know if it will work but i have to give it a go!!!
Professional Contacts, Potential Partners, Learning about work in the field, Sharing resources, New ventures, Expertise requests, Career Opportunities, Potential Clients, Potential Investors
Topics on my radar:
Human Rights, Womens Rights, Fundraising and Funding resources, Non Governmental Organosations, Sedt Up advice, Sustainability, Capacity Building, Developmental work

Hi Fiona
it's really wonderful that you've come to join our community.
Thanks so much for your appreciative comments. Yes, I too have so much faith in what women can do together!
I feel women naturally are drawn to working together and cooperating.
Fiona, of course you are more than welcome to let all your female colleagues and contacts at Westminster, and anywhere else, know about us. We are great believers in networking.
They are all welcome to join the community if they wish!
I look forward very much to hearing more from you Fiona.
Much love & best wishes to you,
Chris
Hello there Fiona,
I have co-founded a global women's organisation and a trading arm which is a social enterprise. I'm in North Dorset and see that you're in Somerset, so thought i'd write to you!
Well done for 'giving it a go'! With your experience & good intentions, I'm sure you'll do brilliantly!
Blessings
Chris
i believe your idea of a social enterprise is great but i believe there is a great need for such in developing economies since SMEs constitute more than 80% of businesses.
