As my first LEAD assignment I am currently working as Donor Relations Adviser for UNDP in New York. Within the Partnership Bureau, Division for Resources Mobilization I support UNDP senior management in the mobilization of core resources by maintaining effective working relations with relevant Liaison Offices and Governments of Netherlands, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Austria. Furthermore I identify and develop opportunities for non-core resource mobilization and advise UNDP country offices and headquarters units on appropriate strategies and approaches to seize them.
Until June 2008 I was the Growing Sustainable Business (GSB) Broker for the UNDP in Malawi. This programme aims to engage the private sector in poverty reduction through the expansion of employment and livelihood opportunities, and the development of new products and services addressing the needs of the poor. My role in this programme was to broker and facilitate linkages between large businesses, potential international investors and local partners in pursuit of these ends.
