Source of my passion about the power of business to fight poverty
I work for a non government organisation
About my work:
I am the Country Adviser on a British Council Project called Africa Knowledge Transfer PArtnerships (AKTP).
AKTP is a partnership which helps businesses build capacity through knowledge, technology and skills transfer which are available from Higher Education Institutions thereby improving the businesses’ competitiveness and productivity
This partnership is established between a company and an academic institution (“Knowledge Base”) which facilitates the transfer of knowledge, technology and skills (which the company partner currently has no access to). The knowledege is transferred into the company via an Associate (usually a young graduate who will be employed by the company for the duration of the project)
Presently, there are 8 projects underway in different parts of the country ( Lagos , Ibadan , Ife , Zaria , Kaduna and Kano ). These projects cut across a gamut of disciplines from Genetics, Energy (renewable) to Computer Software development.
