- The countdown to the Pioneers of Prosperity Africa Awards 2008 has begun.
If you haven’t heard…it’s a two day event, starting next Tuesday in Kigali, Rwanda – the land of a thousand hills.
Part of the Pioneers of Prosperity Award Programme, it brings together top African businesses, investors, presidents and NGOs to celebrate and recognise torch-bearing companies in Africa.
The long-term aim is to turn these companies into powerful role models that will inspire the next-generation of African business leaders.
Ten finalists, which include four female entrepreneurs, will compete in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch to four well-known judges, for a life changing Grand Prize of $100,000.
Co-founders, SEVEN Fund, Templeton, Legatum and OTF Group, are also giving away $50,000 to the five runners-up.
The announcement will be made on Wednesday 19 November at 19.35 (CAT) at the final ceremony. His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda will also be in attendance.
