Dear Christine,
Apologies for the delay in response. I received notice of a comment you left for me, however cannot open that page.
However, I am very interested to join your organisation.
I have a very busy work related lifestyle, but do my best to assist women in need in my area.
My latest project is a school teacher from Zimbabwe. She came to South Africa 18 months ago to support her family. She had a husband and four children who stayed in Zimbabwe. I met her at a ladies camp. It was clear that she needed assistance to survive. I requested her CV and sent it out to everyone I know. Within two weeks we found her a teaching position at the local Fountain of Life Christian School, teaching Maths and Science to the Grade 12 pupils. She was overwhelmed. At the time she was living with her brother in a very tiny room, so we found her accommodation. Her husband has since died in Zimbabwe and she had to fetch her two younger children. Two daughters had to stay behind due to financial constraints. We have found her better accommodation which is needed to raise her 8year old son and 11 year old daughter.
It is heart breaking to know that she only earns R3500 per month, of which R1700 is paid for accommodation. From the balance she still buys food to send to her two children in Zimbabwe.
By talking to like minded people who cares, she survives from handouts such as curtains, bedding, and all the other stuff one needs to put up a home for yourself and two children.

My objective is to grow my business in order to employ more women who are in need. The unemployment rate is very high in the Eastern Cape where I live and creating employment is very important to me.

I salute you Christine for what you are doing for women around the world. Please advise how we can be of assistance to each other in future.

By the way, my Zimbabwean friend's name is Christine Chipo Nyoka.

May you reach all your goals. You have my support.

Kind regards,

Reinette Kydd

Hello Christine, Thanks for the friendship, I am happy to hear of your travel to Uganda. It will be nice meeting Uganda and you also practically getting exposed to the area where i work. This will act as a good experience to the suffering of the women in this region as a result of the war of the 20 years that left women and children suffering the burnt of the war.

Hello again Chris. My website is betsysanders.com, and while it is ancient and not updated (not web 2.0) it does cover some basics when it comes to introductions. I will look forward to more pertinent and interesting sharing of what's up with me that might connect with you over this weekend, as well as attach some things to an e-mail. So glad you happened along today!

Thank you for your quick response to my joining Business Fights Poverty. I am a bit overwhelmed: first the site, which I found when signing up for the telecourse, and then so quickly learning of your work. My whole world has just opened up. And of course, since we women so naturally develop circles, there is no telling how many will eventually become connected because i took the time to join and you to respond. Here's to new and renewed beginnings!

Dear Christine,
Happy New Year. I am delighted at your invitation to be your friend. I have struggled on my own to help women out of poverty and that desire propelled me to go back to school to study poverty alleviation; especially how to use microfinance to lift women and the youth out of poverty. I am passionate about assisting poor women to prevent them from prostitution as a way to fend for their family members. Women have the ability to go on one even in the face of difficulty and I want to help improve their economic status and give them a voice. I dont have a platform to do this now beause I am running a programme, but I do believe that at the right time I will rely more on your experience and advice. Please keep up this good work, and you will be richly rewarded. It is high time women go together and talk serious business about ourselves - I mean how to assist women all over the world out of poverty.

Best regards.

Frances

By supporting them into the global market it will encourage sustainable business, promote realsitic representations of the majority world and reduce carbon footprint. The UK team is still very small but the hard work the team doing is encouraged by the continuing positive response photographers receive.
I look forward to reading more about your organisation. Hopefully I won't take so long to get back tp you next time.
